The Australian Wind Energy Association's Vision is for a robust Australian Wind Energy Industry that makes a significant contribution to safe, reliable, economically and environmentally sustainable energy supply in Australia.

The Australian Wind Energy Association's Mission is to represent the Australian Wind Energy Industry and promote the sensitive and appropriate uptake of wind energy.

Promotion and Education

1. To raise the awareness of and educate the Australian public about wind energy and its potential; and
2. To produce reports, media releases, a newsletter and Internet website for dissemination of information on industry participants and industry activities and organise seminars and workshops for members and other interested persons.

Research and Development

1. To promote and facilitate research and development of wind technology in Australia; and
2. To contract as Australia's Representative to the IEA implementing Agreement for the Co-operation in the Research and Development of Wind Turbine Systems.

Advocacy

1. To advocate policy and represent the wind energy industry to appropriate Federal, State and Local Government officials, elected representatives, regulatory bodies, electricity industry and consumers, committees and the general public;
2. To advocate policy with wind industry groups and other interested organisations; and
3. To provide feedback concerning barriers to the widespread adoption of wind as an energy source.

Affiliation

1. To actively seek affiliation with the like minded organisations throughout the world.

Auswind is a member of the Global Wind Energy Council and also a party to the IEA Wind Co-operative Agreement.
