In 2002, Auswind, with funding from the Commonwealth Department of Environment and Heritage, developed best practice guidelines for wind farm
developments in Australia. These Guidelines document best practice processes from site selection, preparation for development application, through
to construction, operation and decommissioning at the end of the development's life.
A review of the Guidelines was undertaken in the second half of 2006 to ensure that they continued to reflect best practice (by benchmarking them
against international and national standards), and could support the Clean Energy Council Accreditation Scheme which is currently under development.
